Data Analytics Engineer

Project Based to Start - Remote

If you want to work at the intersection of data, product, and real-world learning by building analytics that actually shape how a mission-driven product grows—we’d love to meet you.

Reed AI is a Philadelphia-based public-benefit startup building the first Adaptive Sensory Language Learning platform for neurodivergent learners and their families. We turn real-world language into multi-sensory learning experiences—right in the moment they happen.

As we prepare for launch, we’re looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to build and own our early analytics stack—turning raw app and web events into insights about platform health, learner engagement, and how families and therapists use Reed across contexts. Your work will shape how we learn from beta, iterate the product, and demonstrate outcomes at scale.

This is a fully-remote, asynchronous, project based role.

What You’ll Do

  • Configure and manage PostHog event tracking for mobile and web experiences.

Design event schemas that capture caregiver, learner, and therapist behavior across home, school, therapy, and social settings.

Build dashboards that surface adoption, engagement, and retention patterns during beta and beyond.

Clean, structure, and validate data for reliable reporting and decision-making.

Deliver clear insights and recommendations to the Founding Team

Partner with developers to embed analytics into the product build—not bolt it on later.

Document event taxonomies, tracking plans, and reporting workflows so they scale with the product.

You Will Work on Things Like…

  • Implementing PostHog events for:

    • Caregiver and therapist activity (session launches, prompts delivered, dashboard checks).

    • Learner engagement (word/phrase use, interaction loop completion, responsiveness to multi-sensory prompts).

    • Family engagement (household participation, shared sessions, sibling/parent involvement).

    • Contextual usage (home, school, therapy, social/community).

    • App health (crashes, errors, latency).

  • Creating dashboards that track:

    • Adoption metrics (DAU/MAU, retention, time-in-session).

    • Therapy-linked outcomes (response consistency, use of scaffolds).

    • Context-based insights (engagement by setting, household role activity).

    • Beta signals (drop-off points, feature adoption, friction patterns).

    • Translating data stories into product questions and next experiments.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with product analytics tools (PostHog or similar) or event-based data.

  • Strong SQL and/or data manipulation skills, plus comfort with basic statistics.

  • Familiarity with building dashboards and reports for non-technical stakeholders.

  • `Clear communication skills and experience working in remote or async setups.

Traits We Look For

  • You’re a translator. You like turning messy data into clear, actionable stories.

  • You think in events. You naturally break user behavior into trackable, meaningful moments.

  • You’re pragmatic. You know when to build a quick dashboard and when to design a more robust data model.

  • You’re curious. You follow your questions into the data and bring back surprising insights.

  • You care about outcomes. You want analytics to do more than report numbers—you want it to improve lives.

Let’s talk.

The only requirements for consideration are below. Tag us and we’ll tag you back if we see a potential fit.
